BASKETBALL FESTIVAL 2026

International Competition. Team Experience. More Than Basketball.

Sharks travelled to Portugal in 2026 with our U14 and U16 teams to compete in an international basketball festival.

Across four nights, our players competed against different teams in a new basketball environment, gaining valuable international competition experience.

The trip was designed to combine basketball development with experiences away from the court.

INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION

Our U14 and U16 teams represented Sharks in competitive games throughout the festival. Playing against unfamiliar opposition gave our players the opportunity to adapt to different styles of basketball and compete outside their normal UK environment.

TEAM EXPERIENCE

Four nights together gave the players an important opportunity to develop independence, team relationships and experience travelling internationally as part of a basketball team.

BASKETBALL & CULTURE

After completing the basketball programme, the players spent the final day surfing and exploring the city. This reflects an important part of the Sharks international programme: combining basketball with memorable cultural and sporting experiences.
